Mind the gap

With any further ado, here's my guide to avoiding the key mistakes that German businesses make when reporting on ESG issues in English.

Yes, that's a mouthful.

It's packed with many of the lessons I've learned over the past 20 years.

It includes information about the stylistic differences between ESG reports in English and German, tips for typographers, and two case studies.

I've been working all summer long on this passion project, jotting down notes here and there and gathering examples as new reports were released. At some point, I had to stop before it ended up being 100 pages long.

In the interests of improving the quality of sustainability report writing, I'm making this guide available to my fellow sustainability professionals here. And, yes, a German version is in the pipeline...
